No. 902 Diocese of Marbel, Philippines 21 November 2016
Bishop Dinualdo led the Diocese of Marbel in thanking God for blessingsreceived during the past year during the Eucharistic celebration, at Christ the King Cathedral, 20 November 2016.
Theme: “Gratitude (for past blessings), Hope (for a better tomorrow), Fidelity (for now)”.
Bishop’s homily. David was anointed King of Israel. The Lord told David “You shall shepherd my people Israel” (2 Sam. 5: 1-3). The King-shepherd cares for his people: feed them, defend them, heal the wounded, search for the lost.
St. Paul writes: “In him everything in heaven and on earth was created…, all were created through him and for him.” “He rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us into the Kingdom of his beloved Son.” Through his death on the cross Christ made peace (Col. 1: 12-20).
Jesus is King – a merciful one (Lk. 23: 35-43).
His Kingdom is one of truth and life, holiness and grace, justice, love and peace.
We honor Christ, our King, by obeying His command to love God above all and to love our neighbors as ourselves. And practice justice – a requisite of love. To be avoided: lies, extrajudicial killings and destroying another’s reputation.
We pray for our president, justices of the Supreme Court, legislators and peace officers that they would be faithful to Christ the King.
Twenty (20) priests concelebrated with Bishop Dinualdo. Shared and joyful dinner followed.
Congratulations to all, especially the Cathedral parish for a wonderful and meaningful celebration – fit for Christ the King!
