Bishop Dinualdo led a group of 22 pilgrims to some Eucharistic Miracle sites and Marian Shrines in Portugal, Spain, France and Italy, 3-19 October 2016
Pilgrims: 2 from Malolos City; 3 Parañaque City; 16 Marbel Diocese and 1 Pilgrims’ Center, Executive Resources, Inc., Malate.
Manila – Dubai. Oct. 4 – Dubai – Lisbon, Portugal.
Santarem. Church of St. Stephen. Mass. Miracle of the bleeding host. More than 800 years have passed and yet, fresh blood still flows from the host. Adoration of consecrated host after Mass.
October 4 – 6.
Fatima. Hotel Cinquentenario. Evening, Rosary and candlelight procession. Oct. 5 – Aljustrel – home of Bl. Francisco, Bp. Jacinta and Sr. Lucia’s house. Valinhos – site of Our Lady’s 4th apparition. Loca do Cabeco, where children received the first and 3rd visit of the ‘Angel of Peace’. Mass at Capela Anjo de Paz (chapel, Year of Peace), Basilica of Our Lady of Fatima, “Muro De Berlim (Berlin Wall), near the Basilica – erected 1961.08.13; destroyed 1989.11.09, to commemorate John Paul II’s visit in Fatima, 1991.05.12. Evening, rosary and candlelight procession.
Fatima – Braga – Santiago. Mass at Shrine of Bom Gesu (the Good Jesus), Braga, Portugal. Beautiful Church. Braga used to be ruled by Catholic Bishops.
Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Hotel – Hesperia Peregrino. Santiago (St. James the Apostle) Compostela, Latin, Field of Star. Burial of St. James. Witnessed the “swaying” mass – a giant censer swaying to and fro after Mass, manipulated by some 10 uniformed men. Concelebrated Mass. Presider and homilist – a German Franciscan who spoke in Italian and German. Basilica was being repaired. Still majestic! Somewhat cold.
Santiago de Compostela – Lugo – Cangas de Onis, Spain – Lugo, Asturias, Spain. 1800 year old Roman wall. City’s Cathedral. Mass. Altar in a side chapel, old style – Fr. Joemer said mass with his back to the people. Getting colder!
October 8 – 9
Covadonga. Picos de Europa National Park. Halfway up a mountain is the Sanctuary of Our Ladyof the Covadonga (COVA – Cueva – cave; donga, shortened form of Dominga – Lady. Lady of the Cave). In 722 the small and ill-equipped Christian Knights fought thousands of Moors. The night before the battle Our Lady appeared to the Spanish King who promised to help them liberate Spain from the Moors. Here started the reconquest of Spain. Very cold up in the mountain!
October 9 – 11
Covadonga, Spain to Lourdes, France. Five hours drive. Hotel La Solitude. In 1858, the Mother of God appeared to then 14-year old Bernadette Soubirous in the remote Grotto of Massabielle. Mary’s message: poverty, prayer, penance, Church. Evening, rosary and candlelight procession. Mass. Some bathed in the pools. Evening rosary and procession. Temperature 6OC! Super cold!
Lourdes. Nimes. Nice. Mass at hotel. Then to Nimes – 4 hours drive and Nice – another 4 hours. Hotel at Nice – Mercure. Hospitalized with fever and cough. Three days. Five days rest in Poor Clares Monastery – Monastére Sainte Claire, 30 Avenue Sainte Colette, 06100 Nice. Founded in 1607. Dispersed in 1793. Opened in 1924 with Mére Elizabeth du Calvaire, on the hill of Cimiez. There are 17 nuns. One is a Filipina from Bukidnon. – Sr. Divina. Fr. Bonifacio Ampoyas and Fr. Rey Joloro stayed with me at Nice.
The rest continued their pilgrimage.
13 October – Padua – Venice – Padua
14 Oct. – Padua – Pisa – Florence
15 Oct. – Florence – Loreto – San Giovanni Rotondo (St. Padre Pio)
16 Oct. – San Giovanni Rotondo – Lanciano – Rome. Lanciano – famous Eucharistic Miracle. Church of St. Legontian, 8th century. Basilian Monk doubted Christ’s real presence in consecrated host. The 5 fragments still fresh.
17-19 Oct. – Rome.
Fr. Boni, Fr. Nonoy and I took an Easy Jet from Nice to Rome – a 40 minute flight. Rejoined the group at Fiumicino Airport. Twelve left for Manila via Dubai; 8 extended their tour to France, Belgium, Netherlands. Two left for New York (the Caballeros).
Deo gratias! Thanks God for all the graces received. Thank you, all, for your prayers. Some Filipinas in Nice, France, took care of my food.
- PERSONAL RENEWAL EXPERIENCE (PREX) FOR ILLEGAL DRUGS USERS AND PUSHERS (IDUP) CONDUCTED
Twenty-three surrenderers and a mother of two surrenderers participated in the Batch I, PREX, last October 28-30, 2016, Christ the King Spiritual Center, OLPHS Compound, Koronadal City.
Of the 24 participants 8 came from Brgy. Concepcion; 8, Brgy. Mabini; 6, Brgy. Saravia;m 1, Brgy. Carpenter Hill; and 1, unknown. The youngest is 15 years old; the oldest, 40 years old. Most are in their 20’s.

Joint efforts of PNP, Koronadal City; Koronadal City Mayor and Diocese of Marbel.
Way forward. The graduates met with the GKK leaders and Kriska Alagads for the weekly Sunday Bible Service with communion and weekly Bible reading, reflections, response, among others sustaining activities. They will meet once a month for recollection, updating and bonding.
