COMMUNICATIONS from the Bishop

No. 893          Diocese of Marbel, Philippines                        15 September 2016

  1. UGNAYAN NG PAROKYA AT PULISYA PARA SA ESPIRITWAL AT MORAL NA TULONG SA MGA BIKTIMA NG ILLEGAL NA DROGA (UPPEM – TBID)

Fr. (Lt. Col.) Jaime Consolacion Seriña III, PNP Region XII Chapain, briefed the priests on the UPPEM-TBID.

Police Regional Office 12 is relentless in its campaign against the evil of illegal drugs that destroy the moral fiber of our community.  Our pro-active campaign in this war on drugs has become a unified effort not only at the leading agency unit of law enforcement but also of other government agencies and stakeholders within Region 12.

We have interventions that assist the surrenderers such as economic, psychological and physical aspects of the aforementioned.

To make out interventions integral and well set, the need for spiritual and moral intervention is needed.

In this connection, PRO 12 initiates Pastoral Program dubbed as: UPPEM-TBID or Comprehensive, Relevant, systematic Program for Victims of Illegal Drugs. (CRSP for Drug Users and Pushers).

This effort is to give emphasis on saving the soul of drug users and pushers under the shepherding of the Diocese of Marbel, a response to Pope Francis’ Apostolic Exhortation: ‘”AmorisLaetitia’”.  PCSupt (Brig.Gen.) Cedrick Gayoma Train is the Acting Regional Director.
