Repent. Prepare the Lord’s way. Sin makes roads crooked and bumpy. Repentance makes them straight and smooth.
Valleys are lack of love for God and neighbors. They are also failures to pray. These are filled with good works and constant prayers.
Mountains and hills are arrogance, independence from God, materialism, greed for power, wealth and sexual pleasures. Humility, reliance on God and selflessness will bring them down to the level of the valley that was already filled in (cf. Is. 40:3-4).
Leveling will bring about justice, “the new heavens and new earth” promised by God (2 Pet. 3:13).
John the Baptizer prepared the way of the Lord by “proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins” (Mk. 6:5).
Representatives who planned to amend the Constitution through constituent assembly (Con-Ass) are arrogant and greedy. They are like mountains and hills that must be brought down!
